• @InformationContributor11: The selection occurs in the Spring following the year of the award so this is traditional. The award is presented later that year, delayed for virus this year. see NAA.aeroUser:Peteschulz210 (talk) 13:08, 22 July 2020 (UTC)

Inconsistencies about Yeager using the trophy for storage

In describing Chuck Yeager's win, the article says that "According to his biography, Yeager used the trophy in his garage to store nuts and bolts." However, both photographs of the trophy are from that approximate era and show that it wasn't cup-shaped or otherwise concave, so it couldn't be used to store anything. Moreover, the article says the trophy is stored at the National Air and Space Museum, with no implication that recipients are given a duplicate to keep; in particular, the comment about Michael Collins implies the opposite. At best, the Yeager comment needs clarifications to explain its apparent contradictions with information elsewhere in the article; more likely, it's an embellishment in the biography, intended to illustrate Yeager's humility, but has no basis in fact. FYI @RCTodd: @Skyraider1: a miniature copy of the Collier Trophy is given sometimes. See scrolling photo #2 at https://naa.aero/ BTW Yeager is in scrolling photo #7. Also Edward L. Article name

@Maury Markowitz: Looks like you made this article...(checks history)....16 years ago. Wow! Do you have any issue if I change the name to List of Collier Trophy recipients or a similar name? Then I can fill out the rest of the list, it is mostly complete anyways. Kees08 (Talk) 05:46, 2 October 2019 (UTC)

None whatsoever. I don't even recall making it! It does seem like there should be an article on the award itself. Perhaps simply split out the list part, returning it to its original form? Maury Markowitz (talk) 11:13, 2 October 2019 (UTC)
