This article does an excellent job describing the thermal properties of different types of clothing, though what I came here looking for was the thermal properties of various materials for a given type of clothing. For example, a 3cm thick winter coat made out of down vs. polyester fill, or a T shirt made out of nylon vs. cotton. I assume the macro properties like density of weave, and ambient conditions like wind and wetness, all go into the calculation, and that would all be interesting to explore. Headwear
editI am surprised that headwear (hat, cap, hood) is not mentioned. Per weight and volume it probably provides the most insulation. If your feet are cold, put on a hat. I tested that once and found it to be very true. DirkvdM (talk) 11:30, 14 February 2022 (UTC)
