Branch??

edit

This article contradicts the article on |Clan Maclean. In the former article, it says that this clan and Maclean of Duart are two branches of the same clan. Also, in this article no distinction is made between being a branch and being a related clan. Why is it not a branch? Can this be clarified? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Clan MacLeod (talk) 05:35, 6 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

I think what it it trying to say is that Maclaine of Lochbuie is a branch of Clan Maclean but also a separate distinct clan in its own right, a bit like Clan MacLeod of Lewis and Clan MacLeod. The matter does need a rewrite, so User:76.110.123.192 fancy setting up an account and editing Wikipedia? Yours ever, Czar Brodie (talk) 10:21, 6 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Merger proposal

edit

I propose that Macleans of Lochbuie be merged into Clan Maclaine of Lochbuie. The former seems to be dealt with in more detail here and there seems no need for a a separate article. Ben MacDui 19:22, 14 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
