ARTICLE CRITIQUE

This article is written without a clear focus and purpose. The beginning section defines in the most general terms what the technology is about, with the presumption that there are many uses and applications. Then the article only presents one type of application at greater length, leaving the reader to guess why the technical generalities in the intro section or even the title itself precede the main application information.

ARTICLE PURPOSE AND AUDIENCE

If I had to guess what the main author or its follow-on contributors intended by this content, I would assert that it is technical or engineering focused toward a novice water heating system designer who wants to get an overview before getting started on the project. This is knowledge, and so belongs in an encyclopedic collection.

ADDING ARTICLE CLARIFYING DATA

Since the article is technically focused, I would like to see some data about how much volume of water might be saved, what is the frequency of occurrence of "circulator pump" applications of different types, what are current sales figures for all-in-one household units and what is the growth in such sales. Many others could be useful.

NEW ARTICLE PROPOSAL

I propose a different article is needed in Wikipedia for the household or small business consumer of water who wants to know what a hot water circulator is and how it works and what benefits the cost justifies and what is the payback period per water price, to help decision-making toward obtaining this technology for their application and needs. The new article should be, "domestic hot water recirculating pump."

PERSPECTIVE ABOUT CONSERVING GLOBALLY DWINDLING SUPPLIES OF FRESH WATER

From a wider perspective, the conservation of fresh water is a major theme for the unfolding political, geopolitical and social environment in this century. The technology of hot water line preparation before using it at the tap, as a major water conservation application should be brought to Wikipedia users in the clearest possible terms to permit wide adoption.

OBJECTIVITY & STANDARDIZATION AS ANCHORING INFORMATION FOR EASIEST TECHNOLOGY ADOPTION

The commercial suppliers use the term "recirculating pump," for an unknown reason. This brings another point to the issue that Wikipedia can help communication about the general topic by presenting terminology that currently is or in the future more likely to get standardized.

User convenience and saving time are also benefits.
