confusing last sentence

@Tumadoireacht: do you mean "It has been known only by the male specimen till 2018"? It means that until the female was described in 2018, only males had ever been identified and described, based on the type specimen, which was a male. (Because definitive identification of spiders to species level regularly requires comparison of their genitalia with a known preserved specimen, it can be difficult to match up the two sexes unless they were observed courting or mating, for example.)
