"Tschudi is the first author to create a personal bond between William Tell and the confederates swearing the Rütli oath (German: Rütlischwur)" From the 1470 weisse Buch von Sarnen: "Nü was da ein redlicher man hiess der Thall/der hat oüch zu dem stöupacher gesworn". This shows that Hans Schriber has made the personal bond about a hundred years earlier. You can find it also in Petermann Etterlin's Kronika von der loblichen Eydtgenossenschaft which predated Chronicon Helveticum. Year of the writing edit
In the article it says the book (or a draft) was written in 1550. But here and here it says it was written between 1934-1936. I don't know which one is true, but it's sure would not be the first misquotation or error of/by Bergier I fixed. 91.138.66.163 (talk) 10:28, 7 August 2010 (UTC)
