Firstly, just a note to say that I know that in general we don't put links in sections other than Further reading or EL, but in this case I thought that the list of photographs fit into a similar category, and would be harder to open if put into a citation. But now that I have just gone through the process of uploading one of them from the State Library of South Australia, I have discovered a little treasure trove of other photgraphs. I also discovered that the photographer of the one I uploaded, and others, is H. Y. L. Brown, Government Geologist, on ADB and of course here on Wikipedia.

I also have my suspicions that the photo I added may have been in the 1870s and include one or more of the Gileses - I have put in a query about this to the SLSA, and if anyone else is interested in comparing the photos we have here for Ernest and Alfred, feel free to share your opinions!
