I don't know exactly how this works but this page does not cite its sources and the "History" parts are factually inaccurate. Especially dealing with the period in the Boer War. I have been to Rooihuiskraal and read the National Monuments description and I as far as I remember 6 British Soldiers were ambushed at Rooihuiskraal when they went there to arrest the owner. Perhaps some more digging should be done and this article should be cleaned up.

Lyttelton

edit

It says that Lyttelton was renamed Verwoerdburg in 1967, but Lyttelton, a suburb within Centurion, still exists today? Bezuidenhout (talk) 20:26, 16 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

This is correct. My guess would be that the Lyttelton municipal authority (town council?) was renamed Verwoerdburg, but the suburb of Lyttleton was not changed (the CBD is/was called Verwoerdburgstad).Park3r (talk) 13:29, 25 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
I am in agreement with last explanation :) Aliwal2012 (talk) 21:40, 24 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Waterkloof Air Force Base

edit

Why is this marked as dubious? I served in the SAAF for nearly nine years, most of that time at Waterkloof Air Force Base, and although pretty mush communicably independent, it is definitely located on the outskirts of Centurion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 196.210.138.50 (talk) 20:43, 8 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Is there verifiable information that proves this (a map for example)? If I recall correctly, roadsigns on Hans Strijdom Avenue used to indicate that the base was in Pretoria. Park3r (talk) 12:53, 29 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
The 2001 Census included Waterkloof AFB as part of the Centurion main place. (You can click on "view larger map" to see it in more detail.) - htonl (talk) 14:31, 29 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Alois Hugo Nellmapius

edit

The surname of Alois Hugo Nellmapius is spelled incorrectly in this article as ″Nelmapius″ (as people often also do with the similarly named road - Nellmapius Drive). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 105.237.15.56 (talk) 16:45, 29 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

"citation needed"

edit

I find it funny how White history requires citations and alleged Black history doesn't. Has this got anything to do with the availability of archaeological and documentary evidence? --41.151.24.32 (talk) 18:14, 29 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
