Many thanks again. Chiswick Chap (talk) 08:34, 30 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • Most, but not entirely all, of the Middle-earth narrative section is written in the present tense...my preference would be to put it all in past tense.
    • Ah, that one. It was once intensely controversial. I *think* the policy is to have the LOTR narrative in the present tense, in which case the 2nd age should be past tense...
  • Does Tolkien nowhere give any approximate dates for events in the second age...?
    • LOTR Appendix B, "The Tale of Years", "The Second Age". Copiously. If you don't have the book to hand, Tolkien Gateway lists the main points.
      • Second age is over 3000 years long, so some dates (even approximate) would be good....Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 12:07, 30 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
        • Added the main ones to the timeline.

1. Well written?:

Prose quality:
Manual of Style compliance:

2. Factually accurate and verifiable?:

References to sources:
Citations to reliable sources, where required:
No original research:

3. Broad in coverage?:

Major aspects:

4. Reflects a neutral point of view?:

Fair representation without bias:

5. Reasonably stable?

No edit wars, etc. (Vandalism does not count against GA):   pretty concise...I suspect will be expanded once the Amazon series comes out in September...hehehe Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 23:44, 30 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I'd thought we'd struggle with sources but the games certainly tipped that one. And the new series will turn him into a whole new character, probably! Chiswick Chap (talk) 06:35, 31 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
