Talk:Canute

BTW, in Polish history books with great amount of confidency it is written that Canute was grandson of (hm, i can't remember right now) Mieszko or Boleslav. Anyway, relative to Piasts, descendant of Swiatoslawa, that is Storrada the Proud.. What's western history can say about it? [[szopen]], eager to see more about Canute soon...

Mieszko I it was, through the marriage (998?) of his daughter Swietoslawa (known to the Scandinavians as Gunhild, c.968-1014) to Sweyn Forkbeard (Sweyn I of Denmark). So Canute was indeed part Polish. User:David Parker

And when I'm telling people that all Europeans are Poles - they don't believe me... But seriously, there's a lot of confusion between Gunhilda and Sigrid the Haughty. Shouldn't the two articles be merged? Halibutt 18:20, Jul 21, 2004 (UTC)

Any cunning stunts in King Cnut's resume? :-) — Rickyrab | Talk 09:13, 19 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Surely this should redirect to Cnut the Great, clear primary meaning? PatGallacher (talk) 11:36, 18 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
