Sorry, my command of English it not perfect, so I cant make changes here. But we have to mention the most important romance in the vernacular greek. And we must make the difference between the four "high" novels / romances written in Ancient Greek (attic dialect) in contrast to the later vernacular romances.
"Only four of these Byzantine novels exist today." This comment is true only if you consider the novels in ancient greek.
