Disambiguation page
editThis is actually a disambiguation page, but it still needs to be formatted as such. Marcocapelle (talk) 19:57, 1 January 2017 (UTC)

- @Marcocapelle and Chicbyaccident: I have marked this page as a dab, but I would oppose compliance with MOS:DAB for this page. Many of these groups are referred to simply as "The Brethren", and it is very confusing. The additional information on dates, founders, affiliations, and history is crucial for proper disambiguation. - @Daask: MOS:DAB does not prohibit additional information per entry. What exactly are you opposing? Marcocapelle (talk) 16:43, 5 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Marcocapelle: To be honest, I'm not sure, but I got nervous that it doesn't look like any dab page I've seen and figured as soon as I tagged it as one someone would throw a rule book at me to change it. I could imagine an opening line in the lead saying that many of the groups called Brethren ended up with this name because they didn't want a distinctive name for themselves at all. I could also imagine a note about Baptist successionists trying to put all groups called Brethren into one line of tradition. That would, of course, need to be cited, which is against MOS:DAB. I have now tagged it as a Set index article, which I think is best. However, I can't recall ever having heard of one before, or even edited one knowingly. Daask (talk) 23:13, 5 April 2018 (UTC)

Baptist successionism
editEdmund Hamer Broadbent created a lineage of Baptist successionism. This article has at times included many of the groups in that lineage even if they were not known as Brethren. I don't see a place on Wikipedia for such an article, and am seeking to restrict this to groups that have called themselves or been called by others "The Brethren" without qualifiers. Just FYI for others to figure out how this page got this way. Daask (talk) 20:18, 5 April 2018 (UTC)
