Genericized trademark?
yank here. i'm confused by the whole article. bovril is just ONE BRAND of bouillon/beef broth/consomme/beef stock, right? in its dry/instant form, is it any different than a KNORR'S beef cube, say?
article makes it sound unique, but we have bouillon in the states too. maybe even in a thermos sometime!

And Pepsi is just ONE BRAND of cola, Hershey's is just ONE BRAND of chocolate, Doritos is just ONE BRAND of tortilla chips etc pp. What's your point? 188.107.120.200 (talk) 04:16, 30 January 2016 (UTC)
- those are still recognized as brand names. the article, however, makes it sound like bovril has become genericized -- like "thermos" itself.
- or "xerox" -- do you say "knorr's bovril", for example, even though it's a diff brand? (in the way that most ppl say "Ricoh xerox machine" or "Scottie's kleenex")
- THAT's what "genericized trademark" means. if that's NOT the case, article needs to be heavily reworded. 209.172.23.57 (talk) 08:31, 15 February 2016 (UTC)
