According to other sources, during the Boun Pha Vet celebration, the Great birth story or Vessantara Jataka is enacted. This Buddhist festival is regarded as a particularly auspicious time for Lao males to be ordained as monks.Xufanc (talk) 02:04, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
