One minute ago, I just learnt that blue-black is synonymous with raven black or jet black
Raven hair, jet black, blue black all mean the same thing: very black. But if the black thing in question is not hair, then raven is not used.
One may consider mergin blue-black hair with black, but:
- that would be quite a vague article
- there is an attempt to have hair colours articles. Merging with black would lose this feature (also see this French template).
- synchronization with French (which has its own blue-black article would be lost
