Blüchers

edit

This article should disambiguate between the origins of the first open-laced footwear, "Blüchers" half-boots (OED), and one of it's modern descendents, the low-rise, semi-formal, open-laced "Bulcher" shoe style. REF1 - "Bluchers," Oxford English Dictionary (OED)

Proposed new footwear article

edit

A new Wikipedia article encompassing all open-laced footwear could include, as sub-sections, this "Blucher shoe" article and also the "Derby shoe" article. The article could differentiate different historical and modern styles of open-laced footwear in sub-sections including casual and formal, high and low-rise varieties.
