Untitled edit

I added a little info about the Bjelke-Petersen patriarch, from the marie Bjelke Petersen page. The repitition seemed worthwhile, if anything this is the page the info belongs on. (Why does the reference I added not show?) I deleted reference to the non existent "white australian" etc categories. Jeremytrewindixon 01:55, 9 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Why "Bjelke"? edit

The article says that Georg Petersen became Georg Bjelke-Petersen but doesn't say where he got the "Bjelke" from. Was it his middle name? The place his family came from? Does anybody know? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.17.154.79 (talk) 10:10, 19 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Notability edit

Though the individuals in this article are clearly notable, there is no indication from the sources provided here that the family is sufficiently notable to warrant an article. Comments please, before I nominate it for deletion. BlackCab (TALK) 09:55, 22 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

I could go either way on this one: while Joh and Flo are phenomenally notable, John isn't, their other relatives are ridiculously distant, and I'm not sure that this article could ever be expanded in a way that wouldn't be simply duplicating Joh and Flo's own articles. If expanded beyond a stub, it would effectively be an article about their marriage, and that's not something we really do. Judging from when it was created, the article was probably made under the assumption that John would win (and thus it would at least be a two-generation dynasty), but he didn't and his career crashed and burned after that, and now I feel like the separate article argument looks a bit shaky. It's something like a poor man's family tree. The best that can be gained from it is a few "see also" links at the bottom of related articles that point to other notable Bjelke-Petersens. BlackCab (TALK) 07:36, 23 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
