Billings Metropolitan Area edit

Hi, I still believe that the Billings Metro Area consists of Yellowstone County and the bordering counties. Wolfdog406 (talk) 01:26, 18 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I believe that it's just Carbon and Yellowstone: see page 26 (going by the page numbers on the bottom of the page) of this document. Nyttend (talk) 03:54, 18 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

But why just Carbon and Yellowstone Counties? Don't the other bordering counties that border Yellowstone County be included in the Billings,MT MSA? Wolfdog406 (talk) 04:00, 18 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

I don't know. I'm not with the Office of Management and Budget; you can ask them. Nyttend (talk) 10:47, 18 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Requested move edit

Billings Metropolitan AreaBillings, Montana metropolitan area – Add state to form standard title.  Buaidh  15:21, 11 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose proposal but support Billings metropolitan area per MOS:CAPS. This really needs to be a bulk RM. Per my reasoning at Tallahassee, Pensacola, Clarksville, Dayton and elsewhere, there are no related articles for other Billings's so "Montana" is unnecessary for disambiguation. There are no style reasons demanding the extra verbiage and plenty of articles use the current form. The current title appears to be more common in the sources.--Cúchullain t/c 15:27, 11 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Clarification: The preferred article title for metropolitan areas is the article title of the principal city with the lower-case words " metropolitan area" appended. Please see the List of metropolitan areas of the United States. Yours aye,  Buaidh  17:55, 11 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Furthermore, Billings is a disambiguation page.  Buaidh  20:57, 11 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
