No, the subject's name has never been "Benjamin Paul". We do not format names in the lead in the way you have done, for the simple reason that it implies that the name first given is his full birth name, when what you have supplied is only his first and middle name. His full birth name is "Benjamin Paul Bruce", and he uses the nickname "Ben". "Ben" is not a pseudonym or a stage name; it is the short form of his first name. It is not necessary to state that he commonly uses that name; that is the name of the article, and the name by which he commonly known (see WP:COMMONNAME).
