Biggest seller discrepancy
The suggestion that An American in Prague is the biggest selling gay pornographic movie. This article links to an article on Johan Paulik, in which it is stated that his film Sauna Paradiso is his biggest selling title to date.
Johan Paulik is in both of these films! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.110.164.82, 00:32, 16 May 2005 (talk • contribs)
Why you dont have some pictures of Johan Paulik? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.191.12.174 (talk) 20:18, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
What about the book?
It just figures that in today's day and age, the pornographic company would be more widely known than the famous novel Bel-Ami by renowned French author Guy de Maupassant. A disambiguation note at the top of the article would have been appreciated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.110.164.82, 00:32, 16 May 2005 (talk • contribs)
- The link given here was a link to an article in the the French Wikipedia ; the link is dead (I don't read French, so I can't say why). This is the English Wikipedia and has its own article on the book, Bel Ami.—Chidom talk 08:50, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
Jeff Daniels
The porn actor Jeff Daniels is wrongly linked to the page for the Hollywood actor. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.168.226.151 (talk • contribs) 09:04, 24 July 2006
- Was corrected.—Chidom talk 08:50, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
Pornographic Links
Is it really a good idea to have links on this page that could easily be considered pornographic in nature. Obviously the article implies it... but still... Especially when this page is confused easily with the book... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.255.246.56 (talk • contribs) 21:53, 29 November 2006
- I've added a note underneath the External links section heading that the sites contain adult material, as you could have done. I don't think this article, "Bel Ami (adult film company)" would ever be confused with the article on the book, Bel Ami. Searching for "Bel Ami" in Wikipedia directs you to the article on the book, not this one.—Chidom talk 08:50, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Belamilogo.GIF
Image:Belamilogo.GIF is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
Section George Duroy
Sorry Jamesbeat and 3vil-Lyn not so nice of the 2 of you to what you did to newbie accountforwp. Be warned if you do something like this again to a newbie I will report you immediately with the request of a life ban, so be warned. Now back to the discussion. George Duroy is relevant to this Bel Ami page because he is the founder of the brand and is also already mentioned in the introduction paragraph. Agree with you that Accountforwp should not add links to untrusted newspapers, however the link to the EU Trademark office is fully in line with rules.
Therefore I will re-added the George Duroy section, once again Jamesbeat and 3vil-Lyn if you delete the George Duroy section I will report your action directly to the administrator. Kind regards from Dallas --123pure456 (talk) 18:50, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
- You're very welcome. (Jamesbeat (talk) 11:25, 23 August 2008 (UTC))
Sorry Themfromspace as I also already told the users Jamesbeat and 3vil-Lyn who constantly removed the George Duroy section added by Accountforwp. I agreed with Accountforwp that George Duroy is relevant to this Bel Ami page because he is the founder of the brand and is also already mentioned in the introduction paragraph.
Agreed with them that Accountforwp should not add links to untrusted newspapers, however the link to the EU Trademark office is fully in line with rules.
Therefore I will re-added the George Duroy section and report your action to the admin Papa November and ask him for a ban of at least a week on your account. Kind regards from Dallas --123pure456 (talk) 10:48, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
- I have just deleted all information from your edit that is not to be found in the source you are giving for the section George Duroy. Even "newbies" like you or Accountforwp should be able to carefully read what information is really cited in a source. May I remind you of the picture from the tabloid that not even showed George Duroy? That is what I call thorough research. But then again. The link does not provide the information. You have to do your own research. That is called as far as I know Original Research and is not allowed on Wikipedia (WP:OR). So even this edit will have to go. Please read first the Wikipedia policies before edit warring. (Jamesbeat (talk) 11:31, 23 August 2008 (UTC))
- Like Jamesbeat I have just deleted unsourced material not to be found in given source. --84.81.151.103 (talk) 21:01, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
- Stop vandalizing this page, dear Accoutnforwp aka 123pure456 aka 84.81.151.103. IPs are logged and can be traced by Wikipedia. But that you are aware of, aren't you? Cheers (Jamesbeat (talk) 22:00, 23 August 2008 (UTC))
Dear Jamesbeat, you deleted the George Duroy section because of "Deleting unsourced material not to be found in given source" , this also applies to the parts I have deleted. If you do not want the George Duroy section because you find the source unreliable, than this also applies to most of this page which does not even have a reliable source mentioned.
It's up to you, the George Duroy section stays, if not then the rest without a source also has to go. --84.81.151.103 (talk) 22:38, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
- It's not up to you or me to decide what stays and what not. It is up to Wikipedia policies. "Your" George Duroy section violates WP:BLP, WP:OS and WP:NOR, which you just ignore. Furthermore insisting on using this source and your behaviour shows how biased you are, which is a violation of one of Wikipedia's three core content policies: Neutral point of view. Again all material concerning living persons HAS to be reliably sourced. And your source is not a reliable source by Wikipedia standards. It is as simple as that. And that is why there will be no George Duroy section. But then I have no problem with the page as it is now after your vandalism. (Jamesbeat (talk) 23:07, 23 August 2008 (UTC))
However nice to know that Jamesbeat and Soane are the same :-) --84.81.151.103 (talk) 22:51, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
- Which they aren't. You are very welcome to make a user check. You are aware, dear Accountforwp, that circumventing Wikipedia blocks is a very serious offence, don't you? (Jamesbeat (talk) 23:36, 23 August 2008 (UTC))
US headquarters?
I've heard Bel Ami's US headquarters are in Montana. This would be something to mention in the article, if only for the fact it would downright STRANGE if it turned out to be true. --208.65.188.23 (talk) 05:11, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
Bibliography
Is this some kind of joke?:
- Ami, Bel (2000), Bel Ami : best of Johan, Bruno Gmunder, ISBN 9783861871866, http://www.worldcat.org/oclc/44934457
- Video, Pride (2000), Images of desire : models by Bel Ami, Pro-Fun, ISBN 9783931613013
(etc.)
Oh, yes, the famous photographer Pride Video! Reminds me of the famous Thomas Mann biography by Budden Brooks... -- megA (talk) 20:11, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
Ages
Is it true that its models are aged between 18 to 21?
Indeed. As it's clear from the birthdate of some actors being 1975, then working till 2005, they are clearly 25 when they finished modeling. 180.200.143.166 (talk) 05:54, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
