The Ottoman army

According to Jason Goodwin;"Ottoman wars", the army consisted 80,000 men, and only 900 actual Turks joined the battle, these joined Mustafa Köprulu. The other units were, as most of the Ottoman army, slave warriors such as janissares and north african slaves, also commonly called basibosuk troops. Mustafa Köpeulu and his Turkish troops killed 6,000 Christian troops, but were killed when trying to organize the huge army. This followed to decerased morale, and the Ottoman army lost. I hope that I will be allowed to edit this.

According to Mittheilungen des k. und. k Krieges- Archivs, 3. t., Wien 1889 and I. Ruvarac: "Stari Slankamen:, Zemun 1892, austrian army consisted 55,000 people (10,000 Serbs), 150 cannons. Ottoman army consisted 100,000 people, 150 cannons. Other ethnics present in Ottoman army: Turkmenians, Damascians, few Hungarians (300). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Banatian (talkcontribs) 09:19, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
