French name for this battle?
According to the 'Journal des campagnes du chevalier de Levis,' the French name for the point was 'Cap des Arbres Mataches.' 'Sabbath Day Point' is actually an anachronism as a name since it was applied a year later in 1758 by General Abercrombie as he rowed up the lake with his large force to attack Carillon. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Deshy2 (talk • contribs) 19:53, 27 March 2015 (UTC) I should say I base my statement on the Sabbath Day nomenclature on a passage in the slim book 'Lake George: All About It' published in 1903 by Captain E.S. Harris. On page 20, he writes 'The Point received its name by the landing of General Abercrombie when passing through the lake with his army of 16000 men to attack Fort Ticonderoga.
