Claim to have witnessed the battle edit

The article quotes:

"A witness later recalled that he had seen the 'battle' from a point in town, above the Park Tunnel, looking north-east across Derby Road: ‘There was a great gathering of horse soldiers busy in dispersing the people, and their swords, flashing in the sun, shone like dazzling stars from this point of vantage in the Park.' [9]"

This may be PoV but I fail to understand how, even at this time, someone could have seen the place where the "battle" took place from the Park. Additionally, the Park Tunnel was constructed in 1855, much later than this incident. The distance between the two points is probably about two miles. Quite a long distance to see the details claimed.
