It is overly simplistic to the point of error to suggest that: Bacteriocins are of interest in medicine because they are made by non-pathogenic bacteria that normally colonize the human body. Bacteriocins may be produced by pathogens, and bacteriocin-producing bacteria may not colonise the human body- e.g. Lactococcus lactis. 220.101.40.151 (talk) 23:13, 17 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
