Picture

This statement "On July 27 2011, he was found guilty by the Karnataka Lokayukta of illegally denotifying land in Bangalore and Shimoga for personal gains,[16] and was also indicted in connection with the illegal iron ore export scam in Bellary, Tumkur and Chitradurga districts of Karnataka.[17]. On 28 July 2011, he announced that he had sent his resignation letter, and that it would be effective only from the 31st of July" is rather misleading. First, the reference does not support this. Also, there seems to be differences in interpretation between reports in India vs. how it is understood elsewhere. Generally only a court of law can find someone guilty - Lokayukta, being an independent investigative organization, cannot make that determination. He is not indicted (or charged) yet by a law enforcement office (Lokayukta cannot officially indict anyone, it does not have the power since prosecution is a natural step after indictment and Lokayukta cannot do that - they can only state their opinion). Lokayukta said there is enough evidence to show wrongdoing by the Chief Minister and recommended his prosecution, and that is all what we need to include here at this time - I think. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kijacob (talk • contribs) 13:17, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

The Economist article cited does not say that Mr. Yeddyurappa is a "proud follower of hinduism".
