Any objection to moving this to August 1911 Liverpool Plains state by-election and October 1911 Liverpool Plains state by-election? Using 1 and 2 is a bit unique and less clear. The Drover's Wife (talk) 00:17, 3 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

It's not unique - there are another 5 existing election pages - 1856 Cumberland (South Riding) colonial by-election 1, 1875 Upper Hunter colonial by-election 1, 1877 Orange colonial by-election 1, 1888 Newtown colonial by-election 1 and 1900 Canterbury colonial by-election 1. There are also currently 10 redlinks for similar by-elections. I am not wedded to the numbering and have no difficulty in trying to make the name clearer, but not keen on adding a word at the start as it seems to be contrary to WP:NC-ELECT, especially given the whole rigmarole to update those. Would 1911 Liverpool Plains state by-election (August) work for you as a disambiguator? Given its more widespread than just these two pages, no problems if you think we should take it to WT:AUSPOL to see if anyone has a better idea. --Find bruce (talk) 05:38, 3 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

It's also how we've tended to do elsewhere in Aus to my knowledge (for one example see List of South Australian state by-elections and the Albert by-elections of 1897). I could live with the parenthesis but I much prefer the month-in-front solution. (Later edit: I think it might be sitewide actually: see also this year's Spanish and Israeli twin elections.)
