I've reverted to a much earlier version of this article. Not sure if any of the below content is usable:

Assinie is a small town east of Abidjan, which is the economic capital of Ivory Coast, in West Africa, on the equator. Ivory Coast is east of Ghana and south of Burkina Faso. The climate there is hot, damp and it’s a tropical climate. The best time to go there is on February, March and April (in winter) because it is the dry season.

What is so particular about this place is the combination of the salty water of the Atlantic Ocean, the soft water of the lagoon, the smooth white sand and the coconut trees. This combination offers you a variety of activities. You can swim and surf in the Ocean, then water ski and Jet Ski on the lagoon. If you don’t want to swim, you can take a walk on the shore and collect beautiful seashells. For those of you who like biking, you have a perfect shore with soft sand. You can ride your bike for many kilometers to arrive at the pass, where the lagoon and the Ocean meet. You can also reach the pass by boat, from the lagoon. During the ride, you will see the wild nature all around you. When the ride ends, you can enjoy swimming in the lagoon that becomes at this spot a sort of pool with salty water. It is also the perfect spot for those of you who like to do nothing but stay in a boat all day long trying to fish their dinner.

The lagoon, the Ocean and the white sand are not the only reason why you should go to Assinie. The people of the villages, particularly the fisher’s village, are very friendly and welcoming (in their language, Akwaba means welcome. You hear the word everywhere). They really like to have you there, so you can taste their food and buy their beautiful handcraft made most of the time of wood, bamboo and bronze. If you like sea food, Assinie is the place for you. There, you can find all sorts of fish, shrimps, lobsters… You can also find African food. Their specialty, a grilled fish served with a hot tomato sauce and attiéké, which is a sort of couscous, is very delicious, but it isn’t the only thing that you can find. Restaurants serve also all kinds of international food (especially Italian and French). As to fruits, you can find there the best pineapple and mango. Bananas are served as desserts and a part of main dishes (they are the African French fries or Alloco, as they call them).

If you go to Assinie, you must first find a hotel or you can rent a chalet on the beach. But if you want to stay comfortable, you should try one of the three best places in town: Coucoué Lodge, Marines de Babianah or The African queen. Those three are luxurious hotels with excellent restaurants and easy access to the lagoon sports activities. In each of them are also pools, a tennis court, basketball court… When you need to go out of the water you can visit a place called The Crocodile Dippie. It is like a crocodile farm. There, you can also take pictures with snakes in your hands (real snakes, but inoffensive).
