Notability

edit

It is being used, and mentioned in some research papers (about <40 Google Scholar hits). I am not convinced this passes Wikipedia:Notability_(software)#Inclusion, as I am not sure if it is used widely. But for now we can discuss it, since the author is active and willing to look for sources. I am currently leaning towards merging this to a List of OCR software, however. @Ocr-ninja: --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 03:20, 24 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi Piotr, more sources (mainly books) have been added to demonstrate that it meets the following two notability criteria: 1) The software is discussed in reliable sources as significant in its particular field; 2) The software is the subject of instruction at multiple grade schools, high schools, universities or post-graduate programs.

Especially for 2), it is not "merely used in instruction" as many researchers not only use it, but also analyze its workflow, implementation and modify it to create innovative solutions. @Piotrus:
