Age

ummm, is it possible he is of this age? Because in the special features of the boy in the striped pajamas he said he was eight and jack(Shmeul) was also eight. so how is he twelve and older than jack? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.51.68.51 (talk) 23:08, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

You don't have to be the exact same age to play somebody as an actor. Majorly talk 23:16, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

Removal of image?

Is there a reason for the removal of the image from the sidebox? RoadieRich (talk) 19:25, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

According to the note left on the talk page of editor who added it (by the bot which removed it), it's a possible copyright violation. --Logical Fuzz (talk) 19:45, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

An image used in this article, File:Martin-scorsese-dirige-asa-butterfield-nel-suo-hugo-cabret-193542.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

Awards

The table of awards lists Asa as being the winner of the NSPCC award for Young British Performer of the Year, but I cannot find any confirmation for this. Is this true. Anyone know of a reference that proves this?? ~ Ciar ~ (Talk) 19:18, 21 October 2012 (UTC)

Middle Name

Hi, I have been trying to ask for some information on what I need to do to get Asa's middle name changed to the correct name of Bopp Farr but I am not getting any replies? I am able to get into contact with his mother if this is necessary to get his name changed. I am only trying to make Wikipedia a more reliable source by correcting his name to what it should be. Thanks and I hope to hear from someone soon --Bus123 (talk) 11:44, 10 July 2013 (UTC)

Write an email to the OTRS team and ask for instructions how to confirm this name without making any other details public. If confirmed an OTRS agent may then correct the name in the article. --Denniss (talk) 11:58, 10 July 2013 (UTC)
Hi Denniss Thanks for your reply it was very helpful --Bus123 (talk) 12:22, 10 July 2013 (UTC)

My edit of Asa's middle names was removed because Twitter "isn't a reliable source", however I believe that as the tweet was on Asa Butterfield's verified twitter account it is reliable enough. --737t (talk) 20:44, 05 August 2013 (BST)

A search of the England & Wales birth index for 1997 births in London brings up "Asa Maxwell T F Butterfield", which is a pretty definitive proof that "Bopp" is not an official name, it's a nickname. -- Arwel Parry (talk) 18:32, 9 October 2013 (UTC) A tweet sent out by Asa's account has confirmed that his name is actually Asa Bopp Farr Butterfield. Bopp, referring to the comet that passed on the day he was born, and Farr, taken from his mother's middle name. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Knightlawrence (talkcontribs) 01:51, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

RE name

Hi,

Asa's name now appears on IMDb as Asa Bopp Farr Butterfield. (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2633535/) Which should now be enough evidence to change his name to how it should be displayed.

Thanks

Actually read the note regarding this nickname in the first sentence of the intro. --Denniss (talk) 11:49, 6 February 2015 (UTC)

I don't understand why Wiki is making such a big deal about this. I mean at least put the name in brackets so people are aware of it. I'm pretty sure IMDb is more accurate then a note which has been left by a Wiki moderator. The name Bopp Farr is actually in his passport which the actor himself has stated in interviews [1]. The name has officially been changed on IMDb (Since IMDb can't be changed by anyone unlike Wikipedia). If you actually check the IMDb page it says the bio was written by Sam Butterfield which is his father [2]. I hope you can actually add something to the page so that the article is actually truthful and not false. I'm only trying to help make Wikipedia's information more correct. Asa

I live in Islington I would like to know where here Asa butterfield was born Thank you RolandAssa (talk) 14:21, 11 January 2014 (UTC)

Hello..? Rexs Lord Montilla (talk) 21:42, 8 October 2015 (UTC)

The Article mentions he was born in Islington which means he was probably born in Whittington Hospital (I was born there too), Either case I don't think that Asa is monitoring this page and is going to reply to your question (definitely not the talk tab/section) as well as this is not a Forum or Comment section as stated by the Wikipedia Guidelines, the talk page is for general discussions on improvements of said article. Hugo film Box Office Success

The film did not gross highly at the box office and was definitely not a box office success as stated in the Life and career section (Paragraph 6 - Line 2-3), you might as well add that the film was highly praised by Critics since "it was released on 23 November 2011, and achieved critical and box-office success." doesn't bring that out much.
