And to begin with, Lebanon is Arabic-speaking but it isn't an Arab ethnic majority country; the ethnic majority in Lebanon is Lebanese. It is part of the Arab league though.

Anyway, yeah, Syria recognized it in 2015 which may have been before that sentence was written, so I'm just gonna edit that part.
