This is a gorgeous bit of prose. I felt that it was too descriptive of the emotional state of the writer, however, and not quite neutral enough for inclusion. Whihch is a pity in a way. It's just not best here in an encyclopedia.

CAn anyone provide references, timelines, dates of the mine disaster, or the statistics relating to the hurricane or economics, that are a bit more specific?
