town centres, major shopping centres etc

due to the recent rapid deletion of the Royal City Centre article, I came here to look for cites about shopping centres and town centres; it was deleted because it had only the centre's own website as a reference....well, same is true of nearly all the rest of those on the corresponding template.....and probably the same is true of other landmark locations on shopping centre articles all over North America.... I'll be filing an undelete on that; with WP:Hotels, and stated at the top of List of hotels, any four or five star hotel, anything that's a landmark or of architectural distinction is considered notable on those bases; many such articles also have only the hotel's own website as a ref; notability guidelines are very subjective, and often project-specific as in the case of hotels; I'll be checking with WP:Companies about this matter re shopping centres

One thing that's missing from this article, re the Greater Vancouver region as a whole, is town centres, which are a major feature of the cityscape of the metropolis; they are not mentioned here, other than I guess Pacific Centre Mall and the Harbour Centre and Woodward's Building, maybe Int'l Village is here.Skookum1 (talk) 02:01, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

flowery language re the peacock tag

I added the peacock tag....there's a lot of the typical flowery language of Vancouver's self-hype here; it needs wiping of all that, unless directly cited to publications that use the terms in question.Skookum1 (talk) 02:03, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
