File format edit

What container format is used for ProRes? QuickTime only, or anything else (e.g. MXF)?

Most of the time Quicktime (.mov) is used as a container, though some cameras can record to ProRes 444 in a MXF-Container. I don't know of any other. MoryVanderbuilt (talk) 15:06, 5 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Open source projects edit

Shouldn't it be mentioned, that one of the key aspects of the ProRes codec is its reliability and consistency in keeping the image integrity when delivering a master or as an intermediate between workflows, and that those Open source experiments do not provide the same reliability & quality? There have been many reported image issues and artifacts. They are also not licensed by Apple and thus exist in a legal grey area.[1] MoryVanderbuilt (talk) 15:11, 5 July 2018 (UTC) MoryVanderbuilt (talk) 15:33, 7 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
