Black Pearl and Snuka

I have updated the page because Black Pearl was listed as a member of the Anoa'i family, which he is not. This was listed in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter by Dave Meltzer, the top pro wrestling journalist today. Although Rikishi has stated that Black Pear is a member of the family, he's only done this to help him out with work. Moreover, Black Pear isn't even of Samoan descent, but rather is of Fijian ancestry. Also, Jimmy Snuka is not related to the Anoa'i family. Can you provide references for this? I have seen various references to both being related, including Afa's homepage. Dave is the top pro wrestling journalist today and is known for his accuracy in pro wrestling news reporting. He is very quick to respond to emails. Here is the exact quote from Dave Meltzer's January 22, 2007 issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter:

"Okay, here is the latest on the Anoa'i family tree. Black Pearl, who is the sometimes champ in Italy, is not Rikishi's brother as we listed, although it is billed as such. Black Pearl is actually Fijian in ancestry and from California. He broke into wrestling with Jimmy Snuka Jr. and he's basically Rikishi's gofer on the road. Rikishi has been pushing him to promoters as his younger brother to get him his break. Rikishi is the son of Afa's sister, as is Umaga and Tonga Kid. Ro-Z is the son of Sika. Yokozuna (Rodney Anoa'i) is the nephew of Afa & Sika, as the son of a brother who has since passed away. Samu is the son of Afa, as is Afa Jr."

That is the entire Anoa'i professional wrestling family as of today. The sites you referenced are inaccurate. He will respond to the emails and he is the most reliable source for professional wrestling information. I have heard that Snuka isn't actually related to the Anoa'i family too. However, I've forgotten the reason. Back in 2002, WWE magazine ran an article going over the Anoa'i family tree, and it mentioned Snuka's link to the family. However, I no longer have that magazine and I forget what the link was. He is either a cousin-in-law (where he married into the family), or he's considered a cousin much like Peter Maivia is considered an uncle, a "courtesy" cousin so to speak. --James Duggan 02:34, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Family Tree Needs Redrawn

The way it's currently set-up, the dashed line b/w Amituanai Anoa'i and Peter Maivia makes it looks like Amituanai married Peter, who also was married to Leah. This needs to be removed. In its place there needs to be a solid line linking Leah with the rest of Amituanai's children.

The tree does need to be redrawn. The Usos, Jonathan and Joshua Fatu are twins, the sons of Solofa Fatu (Rikishi). The tree doesn't reflect this. Also, Jacob Fatu is the son of Samuel Fatu (Tonga Kid). This isn't reflected on the tree. Jwjones967 (talk) 00:30, 31 October 2020 (UTC)jwjones967

Orphaned references in Anoa'i family

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Anoa'i family's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Getting too complicated

I think the whole tree needs redrawing. There is no key for the dotted line (i.e. what does it mean?) and now the family has gotten so big it is too difficult to follow in its current format. It is even too wide to fit on the page. 89.241.243.15 (talk) 09:03, 21 April 2014 (UTC)

Jimmy & Jey Fatu (Jonathan & Joshua), Joseph Fatu, Thavana Monalisa and Jeremiah Peniata are son of Rikishi. Roman and Rosey has two sisters Vanessa Anoa'i and Summer Anoa'i. Sefa Fatu

Sefa Fatu is a former Future Stars of Wrestling Nevada State Champion. Been trying to find information on him, but no such luck. He needs to be added to the family tree. Joseph Sefa Fatu is the youngest brother (he was born in 1993) to SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos, he is known as “The Problem” on the indies. Joseph started training at his fathers KnokX Pro Wrestling promotion in California back in 2018, and has appeared for multiple indies since then. Joseph is part of the 6 wrestlers for the latest class of WWE Performance Center recruits and is a second generation wrestler. His Twitter handle is RealSefaFatu. Also, Rikishi's personal life section lists Jeremiah Peniata Fatu as being born on August 30th 1986 (according to a reference on Rikishi's Wikipedia page which lists a reference to their family tree via MyHeritage) though Jeremiah Peniata Fatu is not a wrestler like his brothers are - 2A02:C7F:EDA0:6400:3054:5CE8:90A4:1D3 (talk) 00:52, 1 September 2021 (UTC)

Edit broke the table
