The pronunication of this village is an excellent example of a local one and may be found on the list of shibboleths. The immediate area is heavily Pennsylvania German and Andreas is the German form of 'Andrew.' The local pronunication is likely an example of overcompensation, since the 'ea' is pronounced here like an English vowel whereas in German they are seperate.
