Barratry and Ambulance chasing?

edit

Are they the same thing? I can't seem to find anything that says it explicitly, and the reference provided in the article and others I've seen seem to make it sound like they're not completely equivalent. Another definition from an online legal dictionary: http://dictionary.law.com/Default.aspx?selected=40 i.e., is "barratry" inciting baseless suits, while "ambulance chasing" is solicitation of legal services? Is ambulance chasing necessarily baseless? Zujua (talk) 11:01, 14 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

No they are not the same thing although one is a form of the other. Also, came here after seeing one of the many ads that are common in the US, so it's hardly illegal but I think it was once, like gambling, numbers rackets, etc. In this area there's a partnership one of the partners of which is named Matar, their slogan is 'hurt in a car, call Matar'. Also tv is rife with ads for specific medical products that have problems. 98.4.124.117 (talk) 22:35, 27 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
