Capital L for liter

edit

I changed incidences of ul and ml to uL and mL. I realize lowercase l is acceptable, but the Liter article does seem to use capital L as the preferred form. Most scholarly publications also prefer L, mL, etc. Pdcook (talk) 21:08, 15 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Accuracy and Calibration sections

edit

Do these sections seem a little how-to-ish for a Wikipedia article? Pdcook (talk) 21:23, 16 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia now can contain how-tos, but they stand out badly (large and possibly plagiarised), to me they seem pedantic and pointlessly stating the obvious. --Squidonius (talk) 09:55, 19 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
So is the {{howto|section}} tag I placed in the Accuracy section unwarranted? I agree the section stands out badly. Wikipedia should be facts, not tutorials! Pdcook (talk) 15:05, 19 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I just checked and it appears I have been told something wrong and I have gone and told wrong as a result: How-tos are illegal except for some cases. --Squidonius (talk) 16:21, 19 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Manufacturers

edit

There is probably a power-law distribution of volume vs number of pipette distributors: there are few big makes which sell shedloads while there are shedloads of companies which make or rebrand a few pipettes. I removed the section as the last edit was by 67.203.116.10 who added a new brand, which coincidently coincided with the DNS of said IP. --Squidonius (talk) 03:29, 6 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
