Pelomedusa edit

Hello there, i don´t know who wrote that pelomedusa is a killer turtle for human, but that´s total nonsense. It is far too small to kill even children. Pelomedusa feeds birds and smaller animals, they go hunting together or as single, they wait on the beach until birds come to drink and pull them into the water. But they are NOT dangerous to any human. ;) 89.204.137.104 (talk) 08:59, 27 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Should This Article Be changed? edit

It has come to my attention that there have been studies done which have split the African Helmeted Turtle (Pelomedusa subrufa) into a minimum of 12 species. This is represented in many taxon lists and scientific articles, but Wikipedia still has the African Helmeted Turtle as one species. Should this be changed, or is this still a debated split?

Here's the PDF with the scientific article on the matter: http://www.senckenberg.de/files/content/forschung/abteilung/tierkunde/phylogeographie/petzold_2014_pelomedusa.pdf — Preceding unsigned comment added by Brendansoloughlin (talkcontribs) 15:48, 29 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
