Merge with HDi and consortium pages edit

Article Advanced Interactivity Consortium documents a group that was essentially stillborn. The fact that this article exists reflects the period in which it was created more than it is a reflection of the long-term remarkability of its subject. Article was eagerly created as a result of optimistic predictions of its subject's trajectory, in response to what has turned out to be a footnote announcement.

I'm not advocating that any of this content disappear—I'd be upset if it did, actually—but it needs to be merged into the Advanced Content article. -- C. A. Russell (talk) 19:13, 3 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Addendum:

There was a lot of activity here in anticipation that HD-DVD was going to win the format war. It didn't, and the volume of information just doesn't exist to justify having this content split across three articles.

Notwithstanding the previous discussion that resulted in some splits, especially between HDi and Advanced Content, I'm proposing that the contents of the following three pages be merged into one:

That it all lives under the page for Advanced Content seems the most reasonable, although I have no strong opinions on the issue, so it may very well live on one of the other pages, instead.

In particular, I'm not looking for any of the information that is now present to disappear, which means I certainly don't want these three pages to be deleted and replaced with a blurb in the HD-DVD article.

This grew out of a desire to see Advanced Interactivity Consortium merged with Advanced Content, and I'd already started a discussion on the talk page. (See original message above.) I've since moved the talk page here to discuss the bigger issue and keep it centralized. -- C. A. Russell (talk) 19:38, 3 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

I agree, it appears that the Advanced Interactivity Consortium might have never been finalized, most likely due to Toshiba's decision to drop support of HD-DVD in February 2008, and the dissolution of The HD-DVD Promotion Group in March 2008. - Wadmodder 01:43, 12 June 2017 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wadmodder (talkcontribs)
