I added a little about the history of accentual-syllabic verse in English lit, but I feel it could still use more expansion--especially because at the moment it deals only with accentual-syllabic verse in English (as opposed to Russian, German, etc.), and because I don't know much about the state of contemporary accentual-syllabic poetry by Anglophone poets other than Americans. "She Walks in Beauty", is NOT written in strict iambic tetrameter.
Meet in her aspect and her eyes ... Which heaven to gaudy day denies.
