A miter saw is a woodworking tool that uses a toothed blade.
An abrasive saw is a metalworking tool that uses an abrasive disc.
Two entirely different machines.

- I nominated the article for deletion because it said that it could also be called a "chop saw". I checked for an article on the chop saw, as it seemed like a likely topic to already have an article, and was lead to the miter saw page. As both saws were said to be alternate names for the chop saw, I assumed it was the same thing. At the time you had not added the distinction to the article, so it was an honest mistake. In any case, you seem to be confused about the purpose of the programme I used to tag the article. It isn't a vandalbot, it's a programme that automatically detects newly-created article, so I don't see the point in blaming it. Finally, what you wrote here as well as what you wrote on my user talk page do count as personal attacks, albeit relatively mild ones. Please be civil from now on if you wish to contest another user's edits to an article. --DearPrudence 04:00, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
- You need to use your new toy responsibly, especially when dealing with topics on which you have limited personal knowledge. Maybe in a case like this you should read the older article completely and compare it to the new one, rather than simply "assuming it's the same thing"? Gomer Bolstrood 04:22, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not suggesting it's the same thing anymore, and in fact have no problem with the article now. When I first saw it, however, it was implied that it was the same thing as a chop saw. I read part of the other article (miter saw) and from what I could see it was similar enough to be the same thing.
