The end of East 72nd street (East River side)

Why does the street end in an elevated dead end here. On the FDR Drive, there is a big old stone wall holding up the street (here). Yet E71st and E72st both join FDR Drive. Why was E71st designed this way? Such an anomaly should surely be explainable? Is the old wall part of a much older structure?86.145.6.128 (talk) 11:57, 6 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Error with the "A" train information
