Page name
edit@J-Man11: What sources have you consulted to change the page name? From what I can tell this move is incorrect. – SɱαɾƚყPαɳƚʂ22 (Ⓣⓐⓛⓚ) 13:05, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
- Lord & Watson, on the regiment's page state the name change. 'Wales and Western' was only unofficially used after 1999 (more of a nickname than a title). In addition, according to the regiment's page, 'Wessex and Welsh' was used here, and according to both Lord & Watson and the RCS Regimental Information document, 'Wessex and Welsh' was dropped after Options for Change, which Lord and Watson also describe because of Squadron changes. - So shouldn't the page name be the current name? I.e. 37 Signal Regiment (United Kingdom). – SɱαɾƚყPαɳƚʂ22 (Ⓣⓐⓛⓚ) 16:43, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, But I got told off for 32 Signal Regiment back when, so I kinda gave up on that. Just the numbers without the designation would work better, but apparently I'm in the minority here. @Dormskirk didn't you support removing subtitles back when? J-Man11 (talk) 18:19, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
- Removing all the regional designations from Signal Regiments would make sense as they were dropped by MoD some time ago. But there would be a lot of moves to make and a lot of incoming links to change. Dormskirk (talk) 18:36, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
- Over on the military wikia, that's what I did, see here, and it worked it because it brought the regiments in-line with their regular counterparts. However, like you said it did actually take a few hours of work for me to get them all fixed and such. J-Man11 (talk) 17:11, 1 April 2021 (UTC)
- Fine with me if you want to go ahead. Best wishes. Dormskirk (talk) 18:11, 1 April 2021 (UTC)

So, @SmartyPants22: and @Dormskirk: should the page be renamed to 37 Signal Regiment (United Kingdom)? It's been a very long time since this was discussed, and I was about to create a redirect, but don't want to if the name will be changed. J-Man11 (talk) 03:27, 21 October 2021 (UTC)
- OK with me. Best wishes. Dormskirk (talk) 09:43, 21 October 2021 (UTC)
