I disagree with the previous renditions of this page and its convoluted link to the 332d of WWII fame. USAF Lineage (post-1947) goes from wing-to-wing; while its subordinate operations GROUP is better related to 332d Fighter Group of WWII fame. If you need 'official' guidance on this, check out AF Combat Wings Lineage and History - Charles A. Rarenstein from 1984. This book establishes that the bestowed history went from the 332d FG (WWII) to the post-WW2 332d FW, which was subsequently inactivated. Flash forward to 2002, and the 332d AEW was revived with the lineage of the 332d FW (post-WW2), that *happened* to have the 332d FG (WW2) lineage, honors and history. Looking for the orders pertaining to the AFOUA W/Valor for Sep 02 thru 2003...anyone have published / signed / approved orders for that Award? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 132.3.45.78 (talk) 18:41, 12 May 2014 (UTC)

Bias

"The 332ng AEW will continue it's mission and traditional heritage while performing the important task in the reconstruction of a free Iraq and providing the protection of the Iraqi people from terrorist, insurgents and other enemies of freedom. From a segregated fighter group in WWII to a U.S. Air Force forward deployed wing in Iraq, the 332nd AEW proved that the legend continues."

Is there a more biased article around here? -- VegitaU 03:27, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

Merge

Concur. This would put the 332d in line with other USAF units on Wikipedia. Ndunruh (talk) 17:50, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

As there's been no decenting voices I've merged the pages. Ndunruh (talk) 15:25, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Portrait of 332nd pilots from WW2 nominated on wiki commons

I've nominated Toni Frissell's famous portrait of airmen from the 332nd during World War II in Italy as a featured picture on Wiki Commons. Editors can support the nomination by voting here. Voting closes in nine days. Thank you. --Goldsztajn (talk) 06:10, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
