Seeing as season 7 is coming to a close, and the producers are starting to reveal cast members and plot info, there is enough information to bring back the article about season 8. Please refrain from deleting the page without discussing first. --Lilduff90 (talk) 10:07, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
Aaron Pierce in Season 8?
Return Glenn Morshower as Aaron Pierce in Season 8? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.52.172.144 (talk) 14:57, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
It's safe to assume that Aaron will return, but nothing has been officially confirmed yet. Until we get that confirmation, he shouldn't be listed. 03:01, 17 July 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ikani87 (talk • contribs)

# of episodes
did the info actually come from a press release about the number of episodes, and if not, can we really assume there will be 24 episodes in the season? there are only so many days of the year which don't occur on daylight savings time switching days, and 8 seasons in, there's almost just as likely a chance of 23 or 25 hours as 24. permission to remove number of episodes?
erm only 2 days in the year are DST, how is it just as likely after only 7 seasons? the probability (ignoring leap years) of 8 consecutive NON DST seasons is 0.957 compared to a probability of 0.043 that any of those 8 are on DST days —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.18.182.44 (talk) 15:58, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Rejected - There are always 24 episodes! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.52.167.108 (talk) 13:24, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
- There are not always 24 episodes. Writers strikes, an actor's illness or a multitude of other reasons could keep shows from being 24 episodes - even though the show 24 does try to keep the number at that for their plot purposes. TristaBella (talk) 20:25, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
- All 7 seasons of 24 have had 24 episodes! Season 8 will not be any different. Medazzatrash (talk) 23:16, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
Final season
Is this the final season? I think I heard that. -- Taku (talk) 23:27, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
Final Season = 8th Season is unknown!
keifer sutherland is signed on until the end of season 9! the show must go on, he can take terrorists by himself anyway —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.140.91.141 (talk) 22:48, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
- Uh huh, and where's a source that says that. I haven't seen that anywhere. But there were rumors that it would be the last season. Season 7 was successful though and the only reason for the rumors were because 24 got a contract with fox to do seasons 7 & 8 but whos to say they can't extend that. They better! Unreliable sources
Seriously, if users and IP addresses keep adding content to the article, without adding reliable sources, I'm just gonna keep on reverting it. Twitter is not a reliable source, I don't care how widely it is used. And you're going to have to find a better source to back up your claims. Otherwise, don't add it. Steve Crossin The clock is ticking.... 20:36, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
It is becoming more and more difficult to stop either anonymous editors or inexperienced (fan) editors from adding unsourced, or poorly sourced material to these articles. Sites like IMDB are not good enough, nor is a single source such a newspaper's blog, when there is nothing else even remotely close to backing it up. --MiB-24 (talk) 04:23, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
regarding whether Jennifer Westfeldt should be listed as a "main" character or a "supporting" character should be resolved on this talk page. Constant reverting in the article serves no purpose, and only leads to protection and blocks. Please discuss the issue here on the talk page, and come to a consensus rather than continue to edit war. — Ched : ? 05:38, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
- She should NOT be listed as a regular because she isn't one. Multiple news sources which I've provided links to (which I can provide again upon request) make it clear she is recurring, while citing other new additions (John Boyd, etc.) as regulars. To further this effort, I emailed Fox publicity manager Josh Governale, who you can verify as legitimate by googling him, about Jennifer Westfeldt's status. I think I'm the whole reason anyone thinks she's a regular in the first place, because he replied that she was a regular, which I quickly spread around. However, he later emailed me again to clarify his mistake and that she was a recurring guest star. If you want proof of the emails, I can take a screengrab. Further more, Kristin from E!Online states that Jennifer is starring in a play soon and her character won't be long for the "24" world, so it'd be hard to be a regular in that circumstance. And if the only argument the other user has for her being a regular is that she was in the season's press release, I've stated many times that they've listed guest stars in the press releases and it means nothing in regards to contract status (Jon Voight and John Billingsley last season, Powers Boothe and other in season 6, etc.). The only thing we can ever gather from the season opening release is who ISN'T a regular. Therefore, I rest my case. Alexisfan07 11 July 2009
- Claiming you have an e-mail from Fox is not a verifiable source and from what I have seen, nothing you have "provided" is real proof of your case. (Claiming you are responsible for the cast list problem by confusing countless other sources puts a real strain on your credibility.) You need to stop claiming to have verifiable sources and you will "provide" them if asked, just provide them already. (BTW, you have been asked, more than once by the other editor.) Doing so would put an end to the debate real fast. It's the responsibility of each editor to find sources to back up their edits. One side note about how 24 does its cast listing. Sometimes a character can be listed as a "main" character, but at some point during the season, written out of the show. Remember this happened to Alberta Watson's character, Erin Driscoll, during Season 4 as well as others. --MiB-24 (talk) 21:48, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
- I wasn't aware I had been asked for my proof before. I apologize. Here's a screen cap of the most recent email:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v615/alexisfan07/Picture1-6.png. Also, I am the one that emailed him originally and posted it at The 24 Community board. As for the cast listing, that happened once in season 4 and she was in half of the season. They're probably not too far into filming and Jennifer is already leaving, or at least, for a large chunk of the season. Alexisfan07 11 July 2009
- The "24 Community" is not a source, please don't even try to claim it as one. It is nothing but a forum which lost all credibility long ago. (Actually, it's a site run by a horrible person, but that's not what we're discussing here.) And yes, you were asked for your sources a total of 4 times. (Look at the edit summaries in the history of the article in question.) All you did was revert the edits, without anything to back it up. And I'm sorry, but a screenshot of an e-mail is not a source. Please read No Original Research to see why this cannot be used as a source. --MiB-24 (talk) 23:54, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
- I wasn't stating it as a source, just where I had stated she was a regular before it was corrected and the only place anyone would have heard her name with regular in the same sentence. And I provided notes alongside my corrections I thought? I'm just trying to prove I'm not lying with the email, but I've listed multiple press articles that state Jennifer is RECURRING and nowhere in the press release does it say Jennifer's a REGULAR. The both of you have been here for a lot longer than I have been, you both should know that edit warring is not acceptable, and should seek to resolve your disputes in a more peaceful way, such as discussing the sources present. I'd be interested to see which sources the both of you can present, one way or another, to show your points of view, but the email is indeed original research. - Finally. Now: I would argue that her name being listed in the same breath as Kiefer, Cherry, et al in the Fox press release would supercede all of these sources - either they upgraded her somewhere along the way, or it's going to be a Regina King-type deal with her technically recurring but being listed as a main. If she really was just doing six-ish episodes and then disappearing, there's no way her name would've ended up in the official release. There's also the fact that her character (or an analogue) was in the casting call for new series regulars back in April. But whatever - I honestly don't care anymore. I'm willing to wait for cast photos or whatnot to confirm this one way or the other. --68.228.84.20 (talk) 17:32, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
- I'm saying the press releases aren't good enough sources. Aside from the fact that Josh wrote the press release and my conversation with him, take a look at last year's press release: http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news.aspx?id=20071018fox01. They have John Billingsley listed and he was only in 3 episodes. And here's the official cast list from their press website (even including Governale's contact information), listing Jon Voight among the regulars: http://www.foxflash.com/div.php/main/page?aID=1z2z0z7z2z2. Here are some season 6 press releases, which list many guest stars, and even have Roger Cross in caps like Jennifer when he was only a guest star: http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news.aspx?id=20061004fox01, http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news.aspx?id=20060912fox01. As for the original casting call, things can change based on story or actor availability. Alexisfan07 12 July 2009
- Okay, fair points. Hopefully someone will have a video of the first act of S8 they show at Comic-Con and we'll be able to know for sure. --68.228.84.20 (talk) 01:42, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
- Are we sure they'll be showing the first act? Even then, they may not have the cast listing on the screener version. :( Alexisfan07 19 July 2009

Official main cast order
Hey guys, I know some people have a hard time believing my information due to it's "original research," but for those who are curious, this is what my Fox source told me:
Kiefer Sutherland, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Anil Kapoor, Annie Wersching (not in episode one), Mykelti Williamson, Katee Sackhoff, Chris Diamantopoulos, John Boyd, with Freddie Prinze, Jr., and Cherry Jones
All the best. Alexisfan07 25 July 2009
- It's not a matter of believing or disbelieving, it has to do with what Wikipedia allows to be used as a source and what it doesn't. An e-mail you got or a "source" just doesn't come close to the criteria to be used as a source. --MiB-24 (talk) 05:12, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, I know. But someone seems to deem it official enough. I was just thinking it would feed some curiosities. Alexisfan07 28 July 2009
Tony Almeida
Tony Almeida but now in Season Eight? According to Imdb ... yes?--78.52.172.215 (talk) 16:40, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
- IMDB really isn't reliable for a show which has not even aired yet. You need to find a reliable source such as a newspaper, magazine, trade publication, press release, or the like to back it up.--208.180.22.12 (talk) 21:48, 9 October 2009 (UTC)
This item which is already being used as a source for this article states "'24' stars Kiefer Sutherland and Carlos Bernard." Is that good enough? The Hero of This Nation (talk) 16:47, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
According to his official site, he won't be in Season 8, or at least very unlikely. Drovethrughosts (talk) 18:18, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
