Liz Truss example edit

"As well as McGowan’s abrupt departure, the example of the election of Liz Truss the previous year in the UK's ruling Conservative party was a factor in the proposed rule changes."

Due to The West Australian being subscription-based could someone please quote that example from that piece here as I would like to fully understand it. Thanks in advance. 49.3.72.79 (talk) 03:31, 11 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

"The West Australian understands the floated shake-up was also influenced by the recent leadership carousel in the UK’s governing Conservative Party. It took two months to finalise the ballot of rank-and-file Tory members that was instrumental in crowning Liz Truss as the replacement to Boris Johnson in September 2022. Ms Truss lasted less than two months in the job after unveiling a range of heavily criticised economic and tax policies that contributed to massive financial upheaval and plunged the UK even further into debt. She was subsequently replaced by Rishi Sunak, with the Conservative Party circumventing its own rules to avoid a second full membership ballot." Steelkamp (talk) 04:16, 11 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
