Minor parties on the tables edit

I argue that Cannabis Party and National Party should be removed from the tables until the elections have taken place. This page is not updated with newly founded local and regional parties, but it shows very clearly that a lot of parties run for these elections. Many of them have individual pages, but that in itself is not enough of a criteria for them to be added to the page. It's great that minor parties get pages created, but as long as they are still minor (which Cannabis Party and National Party currently are) they should not be added here until the results are known. The same goes for Læsø List, who was only on the table in the 2013-elections page because they previously held a mayor position. If we are to add minor parties, parties like Blovstrød List should also be added. Adding small parties to the tables may confuse people coming to the page for information. A list of parties with municipal or regional representation could be added to the previous election pages though, allowing minor parties to be linked to on these pages. Greetings, Kaffe42. I would argue these parties should be included. I don't think the list is any harder to read or understand with them being there. If it made the information some how harder to read or understand then I could see a reason but I honestly don't with this. I think its important to set out what this criteria is for inclusion, since I don't see any agreed upon criteria established anywhere. Helper201 (talk) 21:24, 12 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
Hi Helper201, I would argue that they shouldn't. I'm a foreign national that came to this page for information about your elections, and I was fairly confused to see these parties included in the list. They don't hold a single seat, listing them alongside the majority parties gives the impression that they hold the same political weight. Hampepartiet sounded very odd in particular. Just my two cents. --46.195.128.143 (talk) 16:21, 13 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
As the anonymous editor above says, seeing minor parties on this list can be very confusing for people searching for information on the topic. Especially when there are parties without any kind of representation anywhere (Cannabis Party) and even parties that does have representation, but only very small (National Party, Blovstrød List, etc.). I would argue that the criteria should be this: the party is represented in the Folketing or European Parliament (top 8 parties on the table + Alternative), is confirmed to be eligible to run for the next Folketing election (Christian Democrats, New Right), currently has significant representation in the municipal councils (Schleswig Party) or held a mayor post in the previous term (Guldborgsundlisten, arguably Læsø Listen). This would remove Cannabis Party and National Party, and would possibly remove Læsø Listen as well. Læsø Listen held a mayor post in the previous term, but the mayor changed his party, and now represents Venstre. After the election, the same criteria would be there: parties in Folketing or eligible to run, significant representation or holding a mayor post. Kaffe42 (talk) 17:33, 15 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Ignore my previous message. The criteria for the main table is much simpler: if your party received seats in multiple municipal councils, it's added to the main table. If the party only received seats in a single municipality, they are instead added to the table I've made, shown below (this one is from 2013). If the party received no votes, it's mentioned on this page, but doesn't get mentioned anywhere on the election article. That should solve any issues regarding this. I have counted the candidates elected, that is , starting with 2432 and subtracting the number in each line, as they are mentioned in the table of municipal elections. Parties in the bottom line, "Others", if the tables show the correct number, are then, after my count, 77, a fall of 22 from the previous election, and not 78. Please correct the table, if my pocket calculator has counted correctly.--Bornsommer (talk) 05:37, 25 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hey. I counted again and the correct number is 78, you must have missed one. Kaffe42 (talk) 09:13, 25 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
I get 77, assuming 2432 is the correct starting number, using "2432-842-688-225-223-126-102-80-29-20-10-9-1". What am I missing? --joe deckertalk 19:25, 25 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
That's a good question. 77 does seem like the correct number, but counting the seats for the local lists give 78, so one of the parties might be off by 1. It's possible it's one of the parties on the table too. I can't find where it is though, but I'll keep looking. Kaffe42 (talk) 23:15, 25 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
