Talk:2014 Wokingham Borough Council election

Swing edit

Could someone please explain why 'swing' in these election results has been expressed on the one party swing method? The article Swing (politics) confirms what has always been my impression: it is normal in the UK for 'swing' to be expressed as one half of the aggregate difference between one party's gain, and another party's loss. Although the swing between any two parties can notionally be calculated, it would be usual to calculate and note on results such as these the swing between the winning party and the party which formerly held the seat; or, in the case of a 'hold' between the winning party and the runner-up. This has not been done here. Surely this convention should be followed here?Ntmr (talk) 00:43, 12 December 2014 (UTC) Ntmr (talk) 00:46, 12 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
