How-to-vote preference cards?

Doesn't the AEC put up party HTVs on the AEC website normally? I can't seem to find it. Timeshift (talk) 23:02, 29 January 2014 (UTC)

I don't think the AEC has ever done this for federal elections or by-elections (apart from the group voting tickets for Senate elections). There's Open Australia's Election Leaflets website, but that doesn't seem to have had any submissions since last year's federal election. In South Australia, how-to-vote cards are submitted to ECSA for inclusion in a poster that will appear at polling places (and possibly their website)—could that be what you're thinking of? --Canley (talk) 23:57, 29 January 2014 (UTC)

Much ado about nothing

It's almost a status quo result - and the result is not final. We are not a media organisation and we should avoid editorialising over an insignificant swing. Once the result is final, I will add to the end of Terri Butler, "retained the seat with 51.7 percent (−1.3) (etc) of the two-party vote". This will say it all without taking a side - as the results table already does. As for the loser conceding days after, it's overblown and unneeded when Antony calls it only two hours after polls close. I suggest the IP talks rather than wars with a disputed change to the status quo. Timeshift (talk) 01:43, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

Also, Terri Butler has retained the seat, there is no need to wait for an official declaration before we state this. It's universally accepted throughout the political commentariat since election night that Labor retained the seat - apart from the LNP who for some reason waited a few days before conceding. The declaration ceremony is tomorrow, but in the release above the AEC officially announces that Terri Butler is elected member for Griffith. --Canley (talk) 05:09, 17 February 2014 (UTC)

Biased coverage

The infobox only includes 2 parties, and even then, only one gets an image. Sure, we can say who the winner was, but the infobox doesn't even say that the other 9 candidates have been omitted − it gives the impression that they didn't even exist.
