The ruling Democratic Party of Socialists of Montenegro was supposed to nominate its long-term controversial leader Milo Đukanović, but after advises from Europe to step down during the ongoing criminal investigation about him in Italy and imminent candidacy for the seat of Prime Minister, he withdrew in favor of current president Filip Vujanović (Campaign Website), who gladly accepted the nomination.

This part contains heavy speculation, as there is no evidence that there were any advises from anyone whatsoever for Milo to step down. There weren't any indications, for that matter, that he is considering the run for the presidency. On an encyclopedia, only facts should be posted.Nije bitno... DPS boards proposed Milo Djukanovic as candidate officially, but he stepped down.

He received a letter from the European Parliament asking him not to run, which he accused messing into internal Montenegrin affairs.

Municipal boards did propose Milo as a candidate, yet, no such letter exists. If there is one, provide factual evidence, link to the relevant source that confirms existence ofsuch letter. Until you do so, I will remove the disputed section.Nije bitno... (talk) 13:54, 19 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
